New Years Bangers

29 Dec

When I got up this morning I knew I had to work. I’ve still managed to find myself here though. The reason for that is that I decided I needed some new music to help me through the laborious process of copying notes. I had some new indie tunes in mind, but instead I’ve found some French electro and house. At least the New Years Eve party playlist is sorted now.

The Phantom’s Revenge – A Better Day (Boba Threat’s I’ve Learned to Cope With Bad Days Bootyleg)

Boba Threat says he’s ‘making shit amateur disco-house’. I have to disagree. This is far from amateur. True, it is hard to go wrong with a Phantom’s Revenge track, but this is an improvement on a good original.

Fitz & The Tantrums – Money Grabber (Party Supplies Remix)

I got this one emailed to me yesterday by the highly mysterious Party Supplies. Operating purely out of a YouTube channel, the New Yorker is someone that I expect to hear a great deal more from in the future. If you recognise the name, it will probably be from his Hypem-topping remix of Edward Sharpe’s Home – definitely check it out if you haven’t heard it before. In this one, which I have personally uploaded to Soundcloud (it’s that good!), you have a bona-fide 80’s style electro-banger. There’s a download link in the description also.

Poka – Rudeboy Theme

In keeping with the 80’s-esque electro theme is this new track from Greek producer extraordinaire, Poka. I’m slightly running out of stuff to say about this kind of music now, it will get the dancefloor moving for sure – providing the dancefloor has some taste and don’t want Borgore etc.

  1. On the count of three… Ooh La La « Compromise Music - January 18, 2011

[…] Poka – Superhero I didn’t add Poka to that little list above because he spoilt the globally famous metaphor but again, like La Femme, I don’t think it will stay that way for long. He’s actual Greek but what he’s making is very French indeed and when this new release of his came up on my Soundcloud dashboard I couldn’t refuse – be sure to get it quickly, the free download is limited. He’s also included here. […]
